Robert Woods Turner, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Turner was born in Athens, Georgia. He was a member of Waleska Baptist Church. He attended North College, following his service as First Lieutenant in the Air Force during World War II and the Korean Wars. Scripto Corporation employed Mr. Turner in the Research and Development Division and he retired from Dettlebach Corporation. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ms. Mattie Heard Turner, son, Robert James Turner of Marietta, daughter, Betsy Farmer of Lawrenceville, four grandchildren, Matthew Farmer, Sarah Farmer, Merry Turner, and Bobbie Lynne Powell, two great grandchildren, Kaylee Alayna Powell and Faith Megan Powell, three sisters, Eloise Tyler, Irene Morrow, and Betty Eppinger and numerous nieces and nephews.
