July 23, 1961 ~ October 23, 2016

Born in: Memphis, TN
Resided in: Lilburn, GA

Dr. William Edward Callis Jr. was born on July 23, 1961 in Memphis, Tennessee to William Edward Callis Sr. and Myra Burns Callis (preceded him in death). Heavenly gates were opened when he transitioned on Sunday, October 23, 2016 to be with his Lord and Savior at the age of 55. He was surrounded by his family as he answered the call into glory. Ed was an excellent husband, father and servant of the Lord. He spent most of his free time with his family, and watching Nascar racing and the Tennessee Vols. Ed received his Bachelor of Arts in Biology degree from Carson-Newman College in 1983 and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Mercer Southern School of Pharmacy in 1987. He was a dedicated pharmacist for over 29 years. Ed was selected out of all eligible managers and pharmacists for his work with Omnicare to receive one of only 26 Regional Paragon Awards, which is one of the most prestigious honors a CVS Health colleague may receive. We will always remember his compassion and his ability to do anything he set his mind to do. His devotion to his family, ministry and career will be greatly missed. Edward is survived by his father, William Edward Callis Sr.; loving wife, Juliet Callis; daughters, Ashley, Jennifer (grandkids: Jurnee and Jayla) and Jordan; sister, Myra Jo Johnston; brothers, Mark Callis and Tom Callis, along with many loving family members and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made to a GoFundMe account set up by Ed and Julie's daughter.
