Winnie Thomas

Winnie Thomas was born April 30, 1918 in Clinton, Alabama. Winnie passed away peacefully at home in Sun City, Arizona on June 22, 2016. She is survived by her Sons David Hughes and wife Carolyn of Greenville, Florida, Lee Hughes of Atlanta, GA, daughter Theresa & husband Manuel Gomez of Sun City, AZ, her daughter Alice Thomas of Sun City, AZ. Her grandchildren Roxanna Gomez of Sun City, AZ, Lisa and husband Bill Erwin of Palmdale, CA, Martin and wife Donna Gomez of Cliff, NM, Sarah Hughes, Michelle and husband Matt Gailard. 7 great grandchildren, William C Erwin III, Kathleen Erwin, Kathryn Gomez, Robert Gomez, Selena Gomez, Ashley and Brandon Gailard. 5 great great grandchildren, Sonny, Noah and Evanna Erwin, Aurorah and Dameon Albee. Winnie Thomas is preceded in death by her parents - Charles Boswell and Jessie Tyce. Her daughter Charlene Holt, Her husband DB Thomas, grandson’s Francisco Paul Gomez, Michael Hughes. Grandaughter Ariel Erwin. She loved plants, flowers, gardening, dogs, goats, turkeys, enjoyed ceramics, loved traveling, collecting dolls, bears, and tea pots. She enjoyed swap meets, loved shopping sprees, Enjoyed eating at I-HOP, loved cooking but, most of all she loved her children. She was a true southern lady!
