Albert Slaughter Sr was born AC Slaughter on February 6, 1926, to Minnie Slaughter of Buena Vista, Georgia, and raised in Doren, Georgia. AC accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour and was baptized at a young age. AC was named Albert when he was 18, because the U.S. Navy would not accept two letters as a first name. AC’s mother, Minnie, changed his name to Albert after his grandfather. Albert was a U.S. Navy World War 2 veteran as a munition technician. Albert joyfully conversed about his contributions during World War 2 and his service in the United States Navy. On July 9, 1949, Albert married the love of his life, Videll Kinchen of Moultrie GA. The two built a life of four children, relocating to Englewood, New Jersey, and both working for Nabisco Corporation and establishing a solid foundation for themselves and their family. Upon retirement, they moved back to Georgia in Stone Mountain. Albert was a man of few words, but when he spoke, it had resolve and clear purpose. Albert was, until his passing, always calm, pragmatic, and in control of his cognitive abilities. Albert enjoyed gardening, World War 2 movies, his F150 pickup trucks, and driving. His son Albert Slaughter Jr and his daughter Earleen Norrell preceded him in his passing. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 74 years, Videll Slaughter of Stone Mountain, Ga, daughter Lenora Brown of Decatur, Ga, son Randolph Slaughter (Dawn) of Sicklerville, NJ, daughter-in-law Sandra Slaughter of Riverdale, GA, brother Henry Foster (Beatrice) of Teaneck NJ and sister in law Eliza Upshaw of Stone Mountain GA. Grandchildren Demond Staton (Nicole), David Brown Jr (Ianara), Albert LeRalph III, Krystal McPhail (Dezma Sr), Sean Norrell, Aseshilya Broadley. Great Grandchildren Lamya, Arianna, LeRalph, Levoris, London, Cameron, Dezma Jr, and a host of beloved nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
