Aleyamma T. Mathew (Molly)
October 27, 1955 – January 26, 2026
Aleyamma Thampy Mathew, lovingly known as Molly, 70, of Norcross, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on October 27, 1955, in Pullad, Kerala, India, Molly was the cherished daughter of V.V. George and Aleyamma. She grew up with two brothers and two sisters, treasuring the closeness of family throughout her life. After completing her college studies in Kerala, she pursued her Bachelor of Education at Hawabag University in Jabalpur, India.
On August 25, 1977, Molly married Rev. Thampy Mathew, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in love, faith, and service. Together they shared 48 blessed years of marriage and raised three sons—Johnson, Peterson, and Jenson—and their daughter, the late Priscilla, whose memory remained close to Molly’s heart.
Molly and her family lived in Muscat, Oman, for 11 years before moving to the United States in 1989. They first settled in Tennessee, where they lived for a decade, and later made Atlanta, Georgia, their permanent home.
Her life was marked by a deep commitment to ministry and community. Alongside her husband, she co-founded Filadelfia Bible College in Udaipur, India, and established Children’s Network International Inc., supporting Christian ministry efforts in India, Bangladesh, and Nepal. In Tennessee, Molly and Rev. Thampy also started Priscilla’s Christian Bookstore, later relocating it to Lilburn, Georgia, in 2000. For 23 years, Molly faithfully served as co-owner and manager of the bookstore, creating a welcoming space for fellowship and spiritual growth.
She considered the bookstore not merely a business but a ministry. Molly often prayed with customers for their physical, spiritual, and financial needs, and many testified to the peace they felt while visiting. Rev. Thampy would lovingly remark that Molly loved the bookstore even more than him, a reflection of her devotion to serving others through this work.
Molly and her husband were also founding members of Calvary Assembly Atlanta, alongside six other families, where Pastor Shibu Thomas now serves as Senior Pastor. Her unwavering faith and dedication to family, will be remembered by all who knew her.
Molly is survived by her husband, Rev. Thampy Mathew; her sons Johnson (Christina), Peterson (Axa), and Jenson (Rachel); her son-in-law Josy George; ten grandchildren—Jake, Chloe, Jordan, Aleya, Adrielle, Prayson, Jeremy, Ashlynn, Yovel, and Jayden—and her extended family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Priscilla (2021), and her parents.
Molly’s life was a testimony of faith and love, and her memory will remain a blessing to all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, consider donating to Children’s Network International in honor of Molly and in support of Pastor Thampy Mathew’s mission of serving others.
