Allan Roy Martin, age 83, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2026.
Born on January 23, 1943, in Plattsburgh, New York, Allan was a man of many talents and interests whose curiosity about the world never faded. Whether he was building, repairing, creating, or learning something new, Allan approached life with enthusiasm and ingenuity. Family members often said he could build or fix just about anything, and his love of gadgets reflected his lifelong fascination with how things worked.
Allan worked for many years as a Construction Supervisor and was also a skilled custom cabinet maker. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and strong work ethic were evident in everything he did.
Outside of work, Allan enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies and interests. He was active with the Lowrey Organ Club, Atlanta Interlocking Model Railroaders, RCMA and RC Flyers Club. He found great enjoyment in model trains, RC airplanes, beekeeping, hunting, fishing, stained glass projects, bonsai cultivation, and keeping in touch with family and friends. One of his favorite daily traditions was making phone calls to loved ones, staying connected and sharing stories that brought laughter and joy to those around him.
Allan was a devoted member of St. Marguerite d'Youville Catholic Church. He will be remembered for his inquisitive nature, his ability to solve almost any problem, and the stories that family and friends loved to hear. Most of all, he will be remembered for the love and happiness he brought to those fortunate enough to know him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Martin; his mother, Grace Martin; his brothers, Robert Martin and Grant Proctor; and his niece, Joelle King.
Allan is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Martin (née Chovansky); his son, Dale Martin (Kathryn Walters); his daughter, Terri Martin Dominie (Kevin); his sisters, Carol King and Sharon Gowans; his brother, Duane Martin (Barbara); several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Allan's memory.
