Ann Renee Fine, age 48, passed away February 2, 2015. Renee, as she preferred to be called, was the fourth and youngest child of Dorie (Hayes) Botteicher and the late Jack Botteicher.
Renee was born and raised in south Florida. She was a member of the graduating class of 1984 from Miami Southridge High School in Cutler Ridge, Florida. Renee remained in contact throughout her life with many of the friends she made while living in south Florida. She was also an enthusiastic member of the youth group hosted by St. Thomas Lutheran Church.
After graduating from high school, Renee briefly worked for AT&T while living in the Atlanta area. But her heart remained in south Florida. Renee returned to Cutler Ridge early in 1985. Upon her return to south Florida, Renee went to work at American Bankers Insurance Group, where she remained an employee until 1997.
In October, 1994, Renee had the good fortune to marry the love of her life, Frank R. Fine. Renee and Frank enjoyed the south Florida lifestyle, especially enjoying being close to two of Renee’s nieces. In 1997, a job opportunity brought Renee and Frank to Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Renee and Frank shared a lifelong passion for racing, especially NASCAR racing. They named their black Labrador Earnhardt in honor of one of their favorite drivers. Renee and Frank hosted many Daytona 500 parties at their home in Lawrenceville, where guests would enjoy Frank’s famous meatball subs.
Renee was a long time employee of the Primerica Financial Services Corporate office in Duluth. She was able to use her artistic talents in the Publications department. While working full time for Primerica, Renee earned her Bachelor of Science in Management degree. She graduated cum laude from Shorter College in December, 2006. Renee was also a volunteer for the organization AID Gwinnett.
Renee was passionate about books and reading. She spent many evenings sharing the details of her latest read with her nieces. Her nieces would often read the same book only so they could debate her point of view. She loved weekends on Lake Lanier with her family and a cold Coors Light. Having been born in south Florida, she loved the beach and would travel to Savannah, Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach as often as she could. With Frank’s encouragement, Renee took up golf. Despite lessons, she was terrible at playing golf but became an excellent golf cart driver. Bowling was another sport Renee enjoyed.
Renee is survived by her mother, Dorie Botteicher, her brother, Glenn Botteicher and wife Debby, her sister Joy Miles, her sister GayLynn McManus and husband Cliff, nieces Melanie & Laura Miles and Emily & Julia McManus, great-nephew Jackson Geiman and many loving relatives and friends.
Guests may visit with the family on Sunday, February 8, 2015 between 2:00PM and 4:00PM at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway, Lawrenceville, Georgia. A memorial service will be held at 4:00PM immediately following the visitation.
