Anne Peterson

June 2, 1940 — May 1, 2024

Anne McCardle Peterson, was born June 2, 1940 in Mineola, Long Island, New York. Her parents were Arthur and Rita McCardle. She has one sister, Patricia McCardle Slevin.

She went to grade school at Our Lady of Victory in Floral Park and attended high school at Saint Mary’s in Manhasset, Long Island. Anne then continued her education at St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. Anne received her diploma and then went on to become a registered nurse. She worked at Long Island Jewish Hospital in Queens, Long Island. Throughout the years she maintained her close friendships with girlfriends from OLV and SVH.

She met and married Fred Peterson, and they celebrated their 60th Anniversary on April 25, 2024. If you knew anything about Anne, she treasured her family and five grandchildren along with her love for baseball…which started with the Brooklyn Dodgers and then her beloved “Mets.” She loved to travel and take beautiful scenic pictures here and abroad. However, her true passion was photographing every moment with her grandchildren.

The funeral mass will be held at Saint Lawrence Catholic Church on Saturday, May 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM. A light reception will follow in Cogswell Hall, in the church.
