Antonio “Tony” Vaz
Tony, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away suddenly on April 6, 2024, at the age of 61. He was born on March 5, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey, to the late Angelo and Arminda Vaz and is survived by his sister Angela Carvalho.
Tony was a dedicated family man who cherished spending time with his wife of 38 years, Maria, his three children, Jessica, Joey, and Jason, and his granddaughter Amelia. He was a loving, supportive, and hardworking father who always put his family first.
After graduating from Seton Hall High School, Tony pursued a career in technology, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Union County College. Over the 40 years he has spent in the industry, he learned his true passion was being able to help others through this technology boom.
Helping companies improve processes and gaining life long friends in the process. Him and his wife started their own business 26 years ago and through their Portuguese heritage were able to support many clients in Brazil.
In addition to his career, Tony was an avid DIYer who enjoyed learning new skills and being able to collect new tools along the way. He also had a deep love of travel, and had been to more than 20 countries.
Tony will be remembered for his kind heart, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering optimism and willingness to help. He had a knack for storytelling and could always be counted on to lighten the mood with a joke or a witty remark. His warm smile and generous spirit touched the lives of everyone he met.
Tony leaves behind his wife Maria Vaz, three children, Jessica Vaz Lankhorst (her husband Daniel Lankhorst), Joey Vaz, and Jason Vaz (his fiance Kelli McDevitt); His granddaughter Amelia Lankhorst; his sister Angela Carvalho, husband Antonio Carvalho and niece Lisa Carvalho; sisters/brothers-in-law Maria and Felipe Verdelho and Isabel and Alex Barrios; and his nieces and nephews Melanie and Christine Verdelho, and Alisa Cipriano and Nicholas Barrios.

Tony will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved and inspired.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Wages and Sons Gwinnett location in Lawrenceville, GA. This is following a final goodbye from 1:00 – 2:00 pm.
