Arthur Vernon Alligood

Arthur Vernon Alligood, age 80, of Lawrenceville passed away January 23, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ettie R. Alligood; son Michael Alligood and wife, Andrea; daughter Sheila McDonald and husband, Tryggvi; grandsons, Wade, Chad, Graham Alligood, and Pierce and Dylan McDonald; brothers, Jessie, Curtis, Johnny, Larry Alligood; and sisters, Emily Murphy and Annette Saul. Vernon retired from the U.S. Army after serving for 20 years with two tours of duty in Vietnam. After military retirement he worked for 23 years as a Purchasing Agent for Central Metals Recycling. A service to celebrate Vernon's life will be held Monday, January 28, 2013 at 11:00 at Parkway Baptist Church in Duluth, Georgia. Burial will be at 2:30 at the National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
