Manivong, Boualay (Keophila / Sukuong)
ມະນີວົງ, ບົວໄລ (ແກ້ວພິລາ / ສຸກກວ້າງ)
(March 10, 1936 - July 11, 2026)
MANIVONG, BOUALAY (Age 90) - Passed away peacefully on July 11, 2026, at the home of her daughter, Tikki, in Loganville, Georgia.
Boualay Manivong was born March 10, 1936, in Phonthong, Champassak, Laos, to Mr. Som and Mrs. Khambai Sukuong. After her father passed away when she was still an adolescent, Boualay was adopted by her stepfather, Mr. Sithon Keophila.
Boualay married Sopha Manivong in Vientiane, Laos, on June 10, 1958. They had eight children together while operating Sammhit Electronics School and the Lane Xang movie theater. Following the overthrow of the Lao government, her family escaped to the United States in 1981. They first settled in Rockford, IL, where they opened Sopha Electronics Repair. The family eventually settled in Akron, Ohio.
Boualay lived her life with boundless compassion and a selfless spirit. She dedicated herself to caring for others, always placing the needs of family, friends, and those around her before her own. Her kindness knew no limits, and she welcomed everyone with warmth, generosity, and unconditional love. To many, she was more than a mother or grandmother; she was a source of comfort, wisdom, and unwavering support whose influence reached far beyond her own family.
She is survived by her sons, Souvanh, Somrith (Sam), and Sungkhom (Toto); daughters, Sommay, Somphet (Took), and Sompiene (Tikki); grandsons, Alexander, John, Gerry, Dontai, Adrian, Nikolas, Noah, and Maddox; Granddaughters, Sittivanh (Noi), Pristina, Alexandria, and Maesa; great-granddaughters, Ellie, Kaelyn, Mahlani, and Sunya; and great-grandsons, Elijah, Braden, Kamden, and Kadyn. Preceded in death by her husband, mother, and step-father; sons, Sombath (Bat), Somkith (Ting), and Somphone (Lae); and grandson Darien.
Beloved wife, respected mother, enlightened heart and soul. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1040 Main Street, Stone Mountain, GA 30083.
