Brian was born in Liverpool, England to the late John Henry Boardman and Dorothy Dennis Boardman. He obtained his U.S. citizenship in 1974, having already served in the U. S. Air Force for 4 years during the Vietnam era. He was preceded in death by his parents and his older brother John Boardman.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Duncan, his daughter Dorothy (Shane) Blocker of Crawford, Georgia, his son Bill Boardman (Shannon) of Dundee, Michigan, his sister Pat Ward of Frasierville, Canada, brother Michael Willingham of Canada, and grandchildren Madison, Konner, Shelby, Bailee, and Jaxson Blocker, Ethan and Zachary Boardman, and “adopted” grandson, William (Ashley) Beard and their daughter Bella of Athens, GA.
Brian and Marcia met in 2005 at Marcia’s first square dance class in Winder, GA. They spent all of their 17 years of marriage square dancing all around the country as well as right here in the local clubs. Covid was the only thing that slowed them down! And Brian loved Christmas – our yard was always lit up with lights and we had a beautiful Christmas Village Inside even though we often spent Christmas away from home.
In the event anyone would want to make a contribution in Brian’s honor, he supported St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or select your own favorite charity. Contribution not being requested – just love and/or prayers as he was a very special, very loved man.
