Carl Adolph Anderson, II.

Carl A. Anderson, II,. 66, of Lawrenceville, GA died peacefully of natural causes on August 14, 2026.

Carl Anderson was born in Stamford, CT in 1959 to Franklin Roosevelt Anderson and Lois King Anderson and moved to Fort Lauderdale, FL when his mother remarried. Carl enlisted while a senior at Stranahan Senior High School before joining the Army immediately after graduation in 1977. Carl was a professional truck driver with several safety awards and retired from Amoco/BP after years of delivering fuel to customers across North Georgia.

A proud highly decorated combat veteran, Carl served seven years in the Army over two terms of service separated by 10 years. Carl protected American democracy in Germany during the Cold War and returned to Fort Lauderdale after his service. After leaving the Army and working in the civilian world (including the United States Postal System), Carl re-enlisted into the Army because of his love of country and his appreciation for the order it gave his life. Not long after completing his basic training for the second time, he was deployed to Saudi Arabia as part of Operation Desert Shield, and eventually bravely drove fuel trucks as part of the primary thrust of Operation Desert Storm freeing Kuwait City.

Carl was proud to have done his duty in defense of freedom, and he had been a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) in Hiawassee, GA since leaving the service.

Carl was preceded in death by his dear sister, Lorena Melanie “Googie” (Struve). He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Morris Anderson, stepdaughters Sarah (Peterson) and Ashley (Hood), as well as Carl’s siblings: Donald Robert, John Arthur, L. Rowena (Hutchins), Fred, Elsa, Wayne and Gail (Koroglu).

He enjoyed vacationing on cruise ships with his wife, collecting coins, spoiling his pets and spending time with his grandchildren.
