Carmela Esther Sampson

Carmela Sampson, age 88, of Lawrenceville passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2012. Mrs. Sampson lived in New York for most of her life but was very proud of her Mediterranean heritage as she emigrated here from Turkey. In New York Carmela was very politically active and served in the medical profession. She loved to sing, dance, watch soap operas, and had an avid, keen love for the movie and entertainment industry. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Paul Sampson, and is survived by her children: Leslie Balmforth of Lawrenceville, GA; Bob Sampson of Charlotte, NC; and Paula Jacobsen of Ellington, CT; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
