Carol Mae Lowing of Dacula, GA passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 at the age of 82.
She was born in Chicago, IL on August 24, 1935 and was happily married to Arthur Richard
Lowing for 55 years.
Carol was a loving wife, mother, aunt and grandmother. She was the embodiment of a good
friend and a second mother to many. She was passionate about keeping family close and loved
to brag about her children and grandchildren. Highly involved in local and national politics, Carol
was a true patriot and a lifetime volunteer.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Gertrude Ryerson; her loving husband,
Arthur Richard Lowing, and her daughter, Kathleen Ann Lowing-McLaughlin. She is survived by
her brother, Don Ryerson; her daughters, Debbie Lockwood, and Patti Baker; son-in-law, Mark
Lockwood; her grandchildren, Michelle (Doug) Spears, Amy (Matt) Sewell, Brian (Shivani)
Lockwood, Jenny (fiance Trevor Gwillim) Baker, Melissa Baker, Brad Baker, and great-grand
daughters, Mia, Ansley and Reagan Sewell, Julia Spears and Finley Lockwood; and several
nieces and nephews.
A Service of Remembrance for Carol will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Wages &
Sons Gwinnett Chapel in Lawrenceville. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4:30 with a
memorial service in the Chapel at 4:30.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Lighthouse Family Retreat which serves families
living through childhood cancer @ lighthousefamilyretreat.org or Freedom Alliance which
provides scholarships for children of fallen or wounded military heroes @ freedomalliance.org.
