Catherine A. Moran, age 92 formally of Duluth, GA, passed away on September 16, 2020 due to a stroke.
Born in Pecatonica, IL Catherine spent the majority of her life in her beloved city of Chicago, IL. A former travel agent and avid traveler herself, Catherine visited most of the world’s continents. She loved meeting new people and learning about their cultures.
Catherine was preceded in death by her husband, John Harry Moran, parents Howard and Mary Ashton, brother William(Pat) Ashton and sisters, Elizabeth(Jack) Neibert and Joan(Bill) Moran.
Catherine is survived by her stepchildren, Kathy(Terry) Bradley, grandchildren Casey, and Tommy. Michael Moran, Mary(Ed) Ortone, Bill(Bebe) Moran, granddaughters Alicia and Melissa, Therese(John) Dekker, grandchildren Ryan, Nick and Natalie, and David(Esther) Moran; nieces Mary Jo(Steve) Lee, Maggy(Dave)Sylves, Theresa Robelia, Mary(Mark) Kandray, Cathy Nordahl, Ann(Brian) Harvey, Molly Ashton, and nephews Bill Moran, Ed(Margaret) Moran, Bill(Ann) Ashton. Mark(JoCarol) Neibert, Michael(Sally) Neibert and numerous great nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff at Peachtree Villa at Suwanee’s Memory Care for the excellent care Catherine received.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made in Catherine’s honor at Annandale Village, 3500 Annandale Lane Suwannee, GA 30024.
Prayers and expressions of love for Catherine have been appreciated by the entire family.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Rev Jack Durkin pastor of the Catholic Church of Saint Monica ,1700 Buford Hwy, Duluth, GA, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Holy Mass will be live streamed for those who will not be able to attend. Burial will be at the Georgia National Veteran’s Cemetery in Canton, GA at a later date.
