Catherine Céline Peavy, aged 79, passed away on Thursday January 9th, 2025. She was a beloved mother, wife, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Céline was born on July 21st, 1945 in Armagh, Northern Ireland where she spent her formative years. After she attended school at Sacred Heart in Ireland, she moved to London, England at age 18. She later met her first husband, with whom she had two children, Tara and Slean. They moved to the United States in 1968 where she first became a foreign exchange bank teller at C&S. She eventually found a successful career as a real estate agent in Atlanta which spanned over 30 years. She was known for her hard work, keen eye for a good investment and beautiful Irish accent.
More than anything, Céline was a devoted mother & wife. She loved spending time with her family, decorating the house, baking delicious pies, and cultivating beautiful gardens at her home in Dunwoody, GA. She was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement to her children. She made sure they knew they could achieve anything they put their mind to.
She also found time to be active in the community by serving as president of the Dunwoody Garden Club and was a Master Gardener.
Céline is survived by her loving husband, James (Jack) Peavy, her children, Tara Burroughs & Slean Peavy and her brothers, Adrian Moynes, Desmond Moynes and her sister in-law, Fiona Moynes and their children. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
A funeral service will be held for family and friends on Saturday, January 25th at 11:00 a.m. at Westview Cemetery: 1680 Westview Dr SW Lot 72 Atlanta, GA 30310
Afterwards at 2:00 p.m., a Celebration of Life will be held at Grace New Hope Church: 1766 New Hope Rd Lawrenceville, GA 30045
