Cecil Howard Herline, Sr of Lawerenceville, Ga passed away Saturday, April 23rd 2011. He was the son of Joseph Alexander and Margie Matthews Herline. He was born October 11, 1928 in Boling, TX. He is survived by his wife of 59 years and 11 months, Patsy Graves Herline, children Mrs. Karen and David Whitford of Little Rock, AR, Mr. Cecil H. and Debra Herline Jr. of Lakeland FL, Dr Alan J. and Carol Herline, Mrs. Kim and Richard Bortz of Lawrenceville, GA, eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren, and his brother Richard Herline of Yuma, AZ.
He served with pride during the Korean War as a 2nd Lt in the Army Engineers Corps. He earned a B.S. from McNeese State University and taught physics and chemistry at LaGrange HS in Lake Charles, LA. His love of people led him into sales. He eventually joined Lanier Business Products where he retired as Sr Exec Vice President prior to taking a position with Omni Business Products in Atlanta.
At his request his body has been donated to the Medical College of Georgia. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to the Georgia Cystic Fibrosis Foundation 2303 Parklake Dr. Suite 210 Atlanta, GA 30345 in honor of Ethan May. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday April 26th at Briarlake Baptist Church, 3715 Lavista Rd., Decatur, GA 30033.
