Chandrashekhar Patel

December 24, 1944 — June 23, 2025

Chandrashekhar Kashibhai Patel, 80, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 23, 2025 at home in Dunwoody, Georgia, USA. Shekhar was born on December 24, 1944 in Navsari, Gujarat, India to Surajben and Kashibhai. He was the youngest of 8 siblings and did not get a chance to know his father as he passed away when he was two. His mother raised him in Bhadran until he left for Bombay College. Upon completion of college, he wanted to pursue his dream of creating a life for himself and his future family in the United States. He moved to the US in the 60’s and continued his education at the University of Alabama getting his Masters in Chemistry.

He worked for a few years, married Rashmi and had two wonderful boys, Rubin and Rusi. He created several businesses and provided for them all. He enjoyed gardening, reading, and learning new things but most of all he enjoyed being with family and friends. He was a wonderful man with a very generous heart. In spite of difficulties he faced in his life, he always had time for others and kept his relations with everyone in the family.

He came to the US with no capital and only his education and own determination and managed to create a marvelous life for his family. That is the American Dream from a young boy from Bhadran.

He practiced the values of Narsi Mehta’s Vaishnava Jana To.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Shekhar’s name to the American Kidney Fund https://www.kidneyfund.org/tribute-wall

We pray and sing his mother’s favorite hymn which we share with you in prayer, for peace in his eternal soul! https://youtu.be/nzKkyUBx7jI?si=7zlir4EYRI6eWiSs
