Charles Farrell Collins peacefully passed away on October 2, 2023, at the age of 82. He leaves behind a legacy of service, love, and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Born to Claude Collins and Drew-Willie Cheek Collins, in Trion, Ga. Charles was a beloved son, brother, husband, Uncle, Grandfather, Great-grandfather and Great-great-grandfather.
Charls served his country with honor and distinction in the Army, and his dedication to his country was a testament to his character. Charles was also longtime supervisor at the Georgia Pacific Company.
Charles is survived by his loving wife, Elnora “Doodle” Collins, who were side by side for over 61 years, Daughter Lynn(Robert) Gogan of Calhoun GA, Daughter Laura(Steve)Dowdy of Dawsonville, GA, Brother Michael Collins of Conyers, GA. Six Grandchildren, Six Great Grandchildren, and two Great Great Grandchildren, many Nieces and Nephews.
Charles was preceeded in death by his parents, Step-Brother Deputy Ronald Cheek, and Grandson Charles Michael Gogan.
Visitation to honor and remember Charles will be held on Friday, October 6, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at The Wages and Sons Funeral Home, Stone Mountain Chapel. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during this time. A heartfelt Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 7, at 2:00 PM by Reverand Dennis Hembree, followed by Interment at Melwood Cemetery. This will be a time to come together, celebrate Charles’s life, and find comfort in the memories he leaves behind.
Charles Farrell Collins will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His dedication to his family, country, and community will always be remembered, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations. May he rest in peace.
