Charlotte Ann Aldridge

Charlotte Ann Aldridge, born on August 1, 1951, passed away on August 27, 2026. She will be remembered as a kind, loyal, and dedicated woman whose presence brought comfort to so many and whose life left a lasting mark on all who knew her.

Charlotte was educated at Mclendon Elementary and Clarkston Highschool. She went on to serve as a prison guard for 30 years, a role that reflected her strength, commitment, and steady sense of duty. She was also a woman of Baptist faith, carrying that foundation with her throughout her life.

Beyond her work, Charlotte found joy in arts and crafts, bowling and hunting, and fishing. She had a gift for making people feel at home, and she touched many lives through her warmth and generosity. She will be especially remembered for the way she fed everyone around her, offering not only meals, but care, welcome, and love.

Charlotte is survived by her son Rohoe Aldridge, her daughter Sylvia Gonzales, her son Tim Aldridge, and her daughter-in-law Savia Aldridge. She also leaves behind a beloved circle of grandchildren: William Aldridge, Jaquanta Franklin, Quanterius Crawford, Chris Aldridge, Kamren Olger, Kimberly Gonzales, Danielle Gonzales, Chris Gonzales, Jennifer Wilson, Ashley Wilson, and Amber Wilson. Each of them carries forward the memory of her love, her strength, and the feeling of home she so naturally created.

She was preceded in death by her father, James Shumake Sr.; her mother, Francis Shumake; her brother, James Shumake Jr.; her sister, Jeanie Shumake; her husband, Ray Smith; her sons, Dale Smith and Doug Smith; her brother-in-law, Paul Smith; and her sister-in-law, Pat Smith.

Charlotte Ann Aldridge will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. Her life was one of service, generosity, and devotion to those around her, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and all whose lives she touched.
