Charlotte Ann Rink

May 20, 1936 — January 12, 2026

Lawrenceville

Charlotte Ann Rink passed away peacefully on January 12, 2026, at her home in Buford, Georgia, at the age of 89. She was born to Daniel and Hazel (Evans) Zeman on a farm in Brookings County, South Dakota, on May 20, 1936, the third child of six. Charlotte married her high school sweetheart, Vernon Rink, on August 20, 1954, and spent 66 wonderful years with her darling husband before he passed away in 2020. The couple was blessed with six children and moved often during Vern’s 20-year service in the Air Force, including to Alaska, where he was honorably discharged.

Charlotte loved God and family and was an amazing mother who raised her children and managed the household on her own during the many months Vern was deployed overseas. She sewed clothing, drapes, and beautiful quilts. She was an excellent cook and gracious host who loved to entertain. Charlotte taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, loved Bible study and worship, and served in hospitality for years. She was friendly to everyone and gave the best hugs. She loved sing-alongs and caroling and could play everything by ear on the piano and even the accordion. Charlotte became a licensed real estate agent in Alaska and then in Florida. After moving to Georgia she kept busy being a proud wonderful grandmother who was intuitive and adoring. She also worked many years as a receptionist in a bank and a hair salon, making a positive impact with her personable style. Charlotte was truly one of a kind.

Charlotte is survived by her children: Susan Kassel (Rich), Michael Rink (Jacque), Leasa Taylor, Debra Luther (Scott d. 2025), Mark Rink, and Pamela Rink; grandchildren: Jason David (Heather), Mariah Crowden (Jeff), Robert Rink (Karlee), Megan Taylor, Kayla Fox (AJ), Dylan Rink (d. 2022), Charlie Luther (Becca), Julianna Luther, Lexie Emmons (Tanner), Mathew Rink (Megan), and Michael Angles; and great-grandchildren: Dylan Ayden Rink, Ashlyn Rink, Jackson Rink, Charlotte Rose Rink, Michelle Luther, Johnny Medori, Logan Luther, and Robert Jay Rink. Charlotte is also survived by her sister Danene Jensen and brother Jesse Zeman, sister-in-law Karen Nytes, and a great number of adored nieces and nephews.

A service in memory of Charlotte will take place at 2:00PM on March 7, 2026, at Amazing Grace Lutheran Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
