Cheryl Morrow Tinsley

January 25, 1952 — June 11, 2024

On June 11, 2024, Cheryl Denise Morrow – Tinsley entered Heaven the way she lived her life; with courage, dignity and grace. Cheryl was born on January 25, 1952 in Bridgeport Connecticut, to the late Howard and Patricia Morrow. From that day forward, she brought nothing but joy, happiness and sunshine into our lives and the lives of many others. Growing up, she developed a deep love for animals and music. She spent many joyful hours caring for her family’s pets and exploring her gift of music.

She possessed a beautiful singing voice and successfully learned to play and perform on the piano, drums and the xylophone during her early childhood years. Despite of being a burn survivor at a young age, she dispelled myths about living with a disability, and taught everyone around her that though all people die, not all people live. She lived and that passion stayed with her throughout her life, shaping her kind and nurturing spirit.

After graduating from Harding High School, she embarked on living her life to the fullest and recently retired from providing transportation for children within the Dekalb County Public School System. Over the course of many years behind the wheel, Cheryl touched the lives of countless students with her warm smile, patience, and unwavering commitment to their safety.

Cheryl’s greatest joy, however, came from her family. She was a proud mother to Shane, sharing with him the values of kindness, compassion, and hard work. She also guided and mentored her siblings and was a devoted caregiver to her grandmother, Rachel Morrow during her last stages of life. She cherished every moment spent with her family and friends.

In addition to her dedication to her family and friends. Cheryl remained an avid advocate for animal welfare throughout her life. She volunteered at local animal shelters, rescued several pets, and spent many years spoiling her cats, and her beloved canine companion, Marshall.

Cheryl will be remembered for her vibrant nature, her laughter, her love of animals, and her unwavering devotion to her family and community. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and compassion that will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Cheryl is survived by her son Shane Morrow; her aunts and uncles: Russel Ray, David Ray, Barney Ray and Mary Ray; her siblings, Lance Morrow, Brent Morrow, Jason Morrow, Eugenia McCallister and Alphonso Morgan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly.
