Chester Lee Atchley, Jr. age 80, was born in Cleveland, Tennessee, May 21, 1945 and passed away October 10, 2025 at his home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Chet and his family moved to the Atlanta area from Cleveland in the late 1950s where he attended Stone Mountain High School and went on to own a Landscaping business and excelled in auto mechanics like his father. He was known as a man of God, honest and fair in his dealings. Chet, as he was known, was predeceased by his parents, Chester Lee Atchley, Sr. and Catherine Eloise (DeFriece) Atchley; his sister Wanda Faye (Atchley) Curtis; his wife Linda L (Jaillett) Helton; his grandson Christopher Justin Atchley; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
Survivors are his wife Evelyn Ernestine (Burch) Atchley; his brother Larry Ray Atchley; son, Chester Lee Atchley, III all of Stone Mountain, Georgia, his daughters, Katherine R. (Atchley) Bryant of Hartwell, Georgia; and Kimberley J. (Atchley) wife of Gregory Bratton, Loganville, Georgia. And 10 grandchildren; Karen, Julie, Chelsea, Dylan, Cassandra, Summer, Michael, Latham, Tamara, and Cannon; an aunt Ruby (Goodner) DeFriece, wife of the late William Robert DeFriece of Cleveland, Tennessee.
