Claire Mary Wakeman

Claire M. Wakeman, age 52, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, 22, after a brief illness. She is survived by her mother, Fayne P. Wakeman. Her father, William C. Wakeman, predeceased her. Claire is also survived by six brothers and sisters, William Wakeman (Dale Chapman), Robert Wakeman (Jayne), Fayne Wakeman, Nancy Keegan (Joseph), James Wakeman (Gina Gershon), and Thomas Wakeman (Karen). Although Claire was multiply-disabled, she lived a life of grace, humor and contentment. She was an inspiration to many. Claire loved reading with her Mom, her Dad, and her family. She also loved listening to her Mom's singing and funny stories. The family is especially grateful for the kindnesses shown to Claire by Corpus Christ Catholic Church, by Carla Smith, Erika Pace and Kevin Walton of UCP of Georgia, and by the emergency room staff at DeKalb Medical Center. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, February 28, at 1pm at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 600 Mountainview Drive, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30083. The family will receive friends on Friday, February 27, from 6pm to 8pm, at Wages & Sons Funeral Home 1040 Main Street, Stone Mountain, Georgia 30086.
