Constantin "Costel" Colac

Constantin “Costel” Colac, age 82, of Lawrenceville, GA, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026. Born on August 13, 1943, in Romania.

Constantin lived a life defined by dedication, intelligence, faith, and deep love for his family. He completed trade school, high school, college, and university studies before serving in the military with the rank of Sergeant. He later built a long and respected career as an electronics engineer, working from 1968 until his retirement in 2012. Constantin was a founding member of the Romanian Orthodox Church of Lilburn, GA, and remained devoted to his faith throughout his life. His church and community were an important part of who he was, and he was known for the kindness, humility, and harmony he brought to those around him. He enjoyed playing chess, tennis, traveling, and working with electronics. Intelligent and thoughtful, Constantin appreciated both learning and meaningful connection with others. To his family, he was an adventurous husband, a loving father, and a real man with a big and kind heart that could never be replaced. He suffered with dignity and loved his family purely and selflessly, never asking for anything in return. He was a father full of love and worthy of deep respect. Constantin will also be remembered for his gentle nature and compassionate spirit. He always had a kind word to offer and carried no hatred in his heart. He gave love and harmony freely to everyone he encountered. His family will forever feel the void left behind, but his memory will live on forever in their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ilie Colac, and his mother, Rada Colac. Constantin is survived by his beloved wife, Maria Colac; his sons, Calvin J. Colac and Alexandru C. Colac; his nephews, Nicholas Colac, Patrick Colac, and Edward J. Colac; as well as many extended family members and dear friends who will cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00PM on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Wages & Sons Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held at 12:30PM on Tuesday, May 12, 2026, at Wages & Sons Funeral Homes with interment to follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
