On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, Cynthia Forbes, loving wife and mother, passed peacefully at home after an extended illness at the age of 66.
Cindy was born on March 12, 1956 in Chicago, Illinois to Clement and Ina Faye (Jackson) Tatton. Cindy spent her childhood and school-age years in LaGrange, Illinois. She graduated from Lyons Township High School. In her free time, she loved to travel, garden, craft and enjoy music.
Cindy worked in the banking industry for many years and served as a substitute teacher but her passion was for her family and friends.
Cindy’s love transformed the lives of everyone she encountered. She brought a bounty of beauty to everything she did…with her party hosting abilities, warm smile and limitless love for people and animals. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people, share herself and evoke that same spirit of love in each person she knew.
Cindy was preceded in death by her father and mother, Clement and Faye Tatton; sister, Shirley Frazier; guardian, “Uncle” Arthur Juhlin and father-in-law, Edward Forbes.
Those left to cherish her life and honor her legacy include her husband of 49 years, Mark Forbes of Lawrenceville, GA; son, Thomas Forbes of Marietta, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Pondalisa (Shubert) Forbes of Buford, GA; mother-in-law, Margie (Kratochvil) Forbes; grandchildren, Katelyn Forbes, Madison Forbes, Nicholas Forbes and Michael (Mikey) Forbes.
Her surviving extended family includes her brother, Terry Tatton (Dottie) of Reddick, IL; sisters, Sharon Gustafson of Kissimmee, FL and Sally (Juhlin) Hoffman (Steve) of Ft. Myers, FL; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, Rick and Debie (Forbes) Mikel of Chattanooga, TN, Rick and Jamie (Forbes) Dell of Chattanooga, TN, Dean Forbes of FL; nephews, Ron Frazier, Jr. of St. Joe, MI, Jeremy Dell (Emily) of Chattanooga, TN, Cameron Dell (Casey) of Chattanooga, TN; nieces, Kimmie (Gustafson) Wagner (Marco), Karen Gustafson, Sherry (Frazier) Logan (Jeff) of Kissimmee, FL, Angela (Mikel) Eiseman (Sam) of Nashville, TN and Margaret (Dell) Summersell (Garrison) of Chattanooga, TN; and numerous great nephews, great nieces, cousins and other special “family” members.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 19 from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. A Celebration of Cindy’s Life will be held at a later date.
