Cynthia Ann Ziegler

Cynthia Ann Miller Ziegler, age 62 of Stone Mountain, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 17, 2018 at Emory Hospital following a long illness. She is preceded in death by parents Col. William Harry Miller and Erma Louise Adkins Miller of Stone Mountain, GA, and by brother David F. Miller of Sonoma, CA. Cindy is survived by her beloved sons, David Ludwig Ziegler (28) of Stone Mountain, GA and Anthony Jurgen Ziegler (23) of Spartanburg, SC; her siblings Susan M. Roof (Joseph H.) of Dawsonville, GA, Stephen C. Miller (Jayne A.) of Boulder, CO, and William H. Miller II (Maxine E.) of Stone Mountain, GA. She also leaves behind three nieces R. Shannon Bulechek (Bill) of Pickens, SC; Katherine A. Roof of Tucker, GA; Joy E. Miller of Bainbridge Is, WA; one nephew Patrick B. Miller (Christen) of Seattle, WA; two step-nephews Geoffrey B. and Aidan J. Longhurst of Boulder, CO; three great nieces Jessica A. Bulechek of Fayetteville, NC; Jennifer L. and Emily L. Bulechek of Pickens, SC; and her sweet companion Miss Kitty. Cindy graduated from Tucker High School, attended Young Harris College, and graduated from UGA. She lived near Pendleton, SC for about 18 years where she married, raised her boys, enjoyed Lake Hartwell, attended St. Andrew and St. Joseph Catholic Churches, volunteered as a scout leader and art teacher, and worked at La France where she was a textile designer. She was a true artist who created paneled stained glass and mosaics, pottery and ceramic arts, beaded jewelry, and assorted paper arts. After relocating in Fall 2008 to Stone Mountain, GA, she cared devotedly for her Mom, bringing her own unique magic to the residents and staff at Cobblestone of Park Springs. She continued her faith journey as a member of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Parish (Lilburn). Cindy loved the ocean and Charleston’s coastal region brought her immense joy—Sullivan’s Island, Isle of Palms, Pawley’s Island. All who knew her can attest to the sacred connection and groundedness Cindy felt here. Cindy celebrated holidays with extravagance. She loved movies and music. She enjoyed the natural world for all its healing, beauty, and wonder; countless fairies and gnomes found refuge in the intricate worlds she cultivated among her gardens. She believed in collecting rocks and shells. She believed in taking pictures. She believed in pausing to soak in a moment. She practiced gratitude and meant every one of her life’s “I love yous”. Cindy was most content when surrounded by family and her many friends. Visitation is Dec 19, 2018, from 5:30PM to 8:30PM, at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, Stone Mountain. A funeral mass will be held Dec 20, 2018, at 10:30AM at St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church, Lilburn. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Cindy’s life. Send condolences to Wages & Sons.
