Delores Roselle Brown

Delores Roselle Brown, affectionately known as “Dee” or “Larcey”, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2025, in Lilburn, Georgia, at the age of 89. Born on Christmas Day in 1935 in Manassas, Virginia, Delores was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who brought joy and compassion to all who knew her. A proud graduate of Manassas High School, Delores dedicated her life to raising and supporting her family as a homemaker. In earlier years, she also worked as a bank teller and was deeply involved in her children’s lives and education. Her faith was a guiding light, and she was a long-standing member of Cannon United Methodist Church, where she was known for her commitment and kindness. Delores was known for her caring, generous spirit and her incredible attention to detail—her family often joked that she could spot a speck of dust from 100 paces. She had a gift for making her home a warm, welcoming place filled with laughter, stories, and love. To her family, she was a nurturer and protector, always ensuring they felt seen, heard, and cherished.

She is survived by her children: Glenn R. Brown, David M. Brown (Kathy), and Wanda Fisher (Kenny); her grandchildren: Lea Anderson and Naomi Gastler; and her great-grandchildren: Emma Brown, Madison Anderson, Jack Brown, David “Davy” Brown, August “Gus” Gastler, and Easton “Eastie” Gastler. Delores is also survived by her sister Barbara Jean LePre, her late brother’s (Frederick) widow Gail Holmes, her late brother’s (Tommy) partner Mario Rocha, and her adopted sister Betty Jean Eller, who has been part of the family since birth.

The family would like to offer heartfelt thanks to Brenda Freeman of the Stephen Ministry at Cannon United Methodist Church, who visited Delores faithfully each week, bringing her comfort, companionship, and updates from the church she loved. Special thanks also to Marie Pierre, who cared for Delores with great compassion and dedication in her final years.

Delores’s legacy is one of faith, family, and love. She will be remembered for her warmth, her witty humor, and the light she brought into every room

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Delores’ memory to Cannon United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.
