Dr. Dixie Elise Hickman

On 10 August, 2025, Dr. Dixie Elise Hickman, PhD, passed away at the age of 80. Born 26 October, 1944, she was a vivacious, curious, graceful, and compassionate woman who always made everyone around her feel cared for.

Dixie was a writer, a dancer, a singer, and a healer. She was an ordained minister, and presided over many important moments for her friends and family over the years. She is survived by her younger brother, Bill Hickman; her husband of forty-three years, Glenn Oehms; her children, Windi Oehms and Rev. Kaye Oehms-Hickman and their spouses, and her two grandchildren. Her ashes will be interred at Arlington Cemetery.
