It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donald James Moore, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Donald was born on October 31, 1938, and passed away on November 5, 2024, at the age of 86 in Dacula, GA.
Donald held a technical degree in Mechanical Drafting and Engineering and served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force. A dedicated member of Hebron Baptist Church and a Free Mason, he lived his life with honor, faith, and generosity. Donald’s career spanned decades in the automotive industry as a skilled tool and die engineer. As the proud owner of Triple D Tooling for 36 years, Donald’s work touched countless lives. His commitment to teaching his craft allowed others to start careers of their own, enabling them to provide for their families and build brighter futures.
Donald was a man of many talents, hobbies, and passions. He enjoyed working on old cars, hitting golf balls around his yard after he could no longer spend days on the golf course, and boating with friends and family. Known for his kindness, fairness, and unwavering support, Donald was the rock of his family. He led with integrity, teaching his family the importance of faith, generosity, and gratitude for one another. One of his greatest joys was gathering with loved ones around the dinner table, filled with laughter and love, sharing meals blessed with a prayer of thanksgiving. A man who loved his country deeply, Donald was always proud to exercise his right to vote, especially for Trump, and his patriotism was a fundamental part of who he was.
Donald is survived by his devoted wife, Sylvia Dianne Moore; his sons Steve Moore (Valerie), Keith Moore, and Scott Moore; his daughter Dana Bowen (Gregg); his grandchildren Tori Moore (James), Nikki Hyde (Jason), Jesse Moore (Tayler), Jacob Moore (Jessica), Mariah Wisely (Matthew), Steven Bowen, Brandon Moore (Chelsea), Bradley Moore (Arielle), Taylor Baker (Cody), and Lauren Tuggle; and his great-grandchildren Carson Belle Hyde, Blake Wisely, Landon Baker, and Kayden Tuggle. He also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046, on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 11 AM – 1 PM with a funeral service to follow at 1 PM. Interment will take place following the service at Gwinnett Memorial Park, 925 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Donald’s honor.
Donald’s legacy of faith, love, and generosity will live on through the family he cherished and the lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
