Dorothy Marie Mcgaughy

Dorothy McGaughy (Dot) was born in Mississippi on March 27, 1957, to Bennie Sr. and Mozella Mitchell.

She obtained her associates degree in May 1985 from Joliet Junior College. She worked 26 years at the Internal Revenue service and retired.

Dorothy was granted her angel wings on Tuesday, January 25, 2022. Her final days were spent surrounded by family at her Atlanta home. Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mozella and Bennie Mitchell Sr.; Sister, Minnie (Albert Lee) Lott: Three nephews John Lee Ward Jr, Leonard Turner Jr (pooh), and Gerald Lindsey Jr. (pooh pooh).

Dorothy is survived by her husband Larry McGaughy, Siblings; Lucinda (Robert) Holiday, Bennie (Sylvia) Mitchell Jr, James Lee (Theresa) Mitchell, Mary Mitchell, Bobby (Barbara) Mitchell, Larry (Mary) Mitchell, Arthur Mitchell, Angela (Leonard) Turner. Children: Katina Webb, Kasandra (Michael) Henderson, Tawanna (Anwand) Clark. Grandchildren; Destiny (Dameron) Baldwin, Taje’ Thomas, DeAndre Johnson, Larry Clark III, Isaiah Clark, Cameron and Kayla Henderson. Great-grandchildren; Judah and Koriyon Lampkin, Kai Stafford, Jamya Hubbard and one on the way. A host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. special friends; Sharon Parker, Aisha Adair, Gladys (Richard)Sauler; Pets; Rolo and Broc.
