Edgar Stephen Foster

February 28, 1942 — February 16, 2025

Edgar Stephen Foster, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025, just shy of his 83rd birthday. Born on February 28, 1942, in Beckley, West Virginia, Steve spent a life full of joy, connection, and adventure, and resided in Lilburn, Georgia at the time of his passing.

A proud graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and Marshall University, Steve served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEP) and Robe fraternities, and carried those bonds of brotherhood with him throughout his life.

Professionally, Steve worked as a sales manager for several heavy equipment companies, where his natural charisma, humor, and easygoing nature made him not only successful but well-liked by colleagues and clients alike.

Steve was a Baptist and lived his life with a warm heart and open arms. He was always up for a good time—whether it was playing tennis, traveling to new places, dancing to his favorite music, or simply enjoying the company of others. He had a magnetic personality and could light up a room with his wit and charm. His presence made people laugh, feel at ease, and enjoy the moment.

To his family, Steve was a source of constant love and support. He was a fun and devoted father and grandfather, always making those around him feel valued and uplifted. His legacy will live on in the memories he created and the joy he brought to others.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar Sclater Foster and Erma Wauhop Foster, and his beloved wife, Patricia Farmer Foster.

He is survived by his daughters, April Foster Donner (Kurt) and Katherine Foster Taylor (Ross); his brother, Jimmy Foster; his nephew Jay Foster, niece Leslie Foster Mitchell, and nephew Josh Foster; his adored grandchildren: Grey Donner, Linden Donner, Emory Donner, and Cora Taylor; and his loving girlfriend, Ann Cooper.

A visitation will be held at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel on Saturday, April 19, 2025, from 2:00–4:00 PM, followed by a celebration of life at 4:00 PM. A private inurnment will take place at White Chapel Memorial Gardens at a later date.

Edgar Stephen Foster will be remembered for his infectious laughter, boundless energy, and the love he poured into every relationship. His was a life well-lived, and he will be deeply missed.
