Edna Lewis Pittard's Obituary Pittard, Edna Lewis Pittard, age 91, of Atlanta, Georgia died Sunday, May 9, 2010 at DeKalb Medical Center. She was married to the late G. Davis Pittard of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Edna is survived by her son, Darrell D. Pittard and his wife, Sandy of Atlanta. In addition she is survived by her grandchildren, Brian D. Pittard of Alpharetta, Georgia, David D. Pittard of Woodstock, Georgia, and Suzanne S. Wallace of Atlanta. She had six great grandchildren: Peyton Pittard, Davis Pittard, Kate Pittard, Jack Pittard, Will Wallace and Ella Wallace. She is also survived by her sister, Edith Barnhart of Union Point, Georgia. She was especially close to her sister-in-law, Charlotte Pittard, of Stone Mountain, Georgia. Edna Pittard was born in Sparta, Georgia, and raised in Greene County, Georgia. Following her marriage to Davis Pittard they moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia. She was a long time member of The First Baptist Church of Stone Mountain and the Stone Mountain Women's Club. She worked in various civic and charitable organizations, including Stone Mountain PTA. For the past ten years, she has lived at Kings Bridge Retirement Center in Decatur, Georgia. Family visitation will be held at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, 1040 Main Street, Stone Mountain, Georgia from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 10, 2010. The funeral will also be held at Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Stone Mountain at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2010. Internment will follow at Stone Mountain City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Wages & Sons, Stone Mountain Chapel 770/469-9811.
