Eddie was born in Savannah, GA, to Lillian Bertie DuPuis and William Henry DuPuis on August 5 th , 1918. He attended school and graduated in Charleston, SC. He was a veteran of World War II in the Naval Air Corp as a Radioman. After he was discharged from the Navy he worked in the Insurance Industry and in the later years as a painter. Eddie was an entrepreneur like his mother and owned various businesses such as motels, restaurants, and service stations. He was a loving, caring, kind, & gentle soul who raised his daughters. Edward C. DuPuis is preceded in death by his mother, father, wife Edythe Cavel Wood and brother William H. DuPuis, Jr. He is survived by his two daughters, Anne Shimagoki of Los Angeles, CA; and Mary Freeman of Dacula GA; fiancé of 35 years Virginia Hamerick, grandchildren, Keith Steiner, Jeff Steiner, Shane Garrett, and Kimberly Mainer, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandson. The family of Mr. DuPuis wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the nurses and staff at CrossRoads Hospice. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 pm Friday April 18, 2014 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel. Burial will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens in Tucker, GA. The family will receive friends Thursday April 17 th from 2:00 until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel.
