CPO Edward H. “Chief” Laughlin, U.S. Navy Retired., age 92, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017. He was preceded in death by sister, Marion Laughlin; brother, William Laughlin and granddaughter, Brooke Coburn. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Reba Laughlin; children, Laura Lee Laughlin Floyd, Edward Lance Laughlin, Lisa L. Laughlin; step children, Tonya Miller Adams-Ochab, Tina Miller Cox, and Amanda Lea Cotter; Ten Grandchildren and Seven Great Grandchildren. Chief was born in Buckner, MO on May 31, 1925. He joined the Merchant Marines in 1942 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943. He served in WWII, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam, retiring in 1966 after 23 years of service. He then joined the private sector in electronics retiring in 1996. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at 4:00 P.M. at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Bill Stonebraker officiating, Interment with full military honors, will follow at East Shadowlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA. 770-277-4550.
