Edward Anthony Schirmer Mr.

Edward Anthony Schirmer, 71, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away Sunday, October 12, 2014 from pancreatic cancer surrounded by his family. Edward was born Dec. 28, 1942 in Lima, Ohio to Mary Harville Grammer and Edward Charles Schirmer. He attended Bath school in Lima, Ohio and joined the Navy March 3, 1967. He worked for 38 years for 3M Company and retired in 2009. Edward was an avid golfer, loved fishing, motorcycling and traveling with his wife, Bonnie, to various parts of the world and almost every state in the U.S. He very much enjoyed spending summers in North Dakota/Montana visiting relatives and friends. Most of all he loved his family. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Edward Schirmer and brother, Joe Schirmer. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, of Lawrenceville, GA; daughter, Alana, of Cincinnati, OH; daughter, Shelly Mannes (Tad) of Lawrenceville, GA; sons, Steven Woodworth of Duluth, GA and Alan Woodworth (Tamyria) of Easley, SC; grandchildren, Amber (Jimmy) Dicks of Canton, GA, Kathryn Mannes of Lawrenceville, GA, Saron, Wesley, and Hayden Woodworth of Easley, SC, Petra Schirmer of Cincinnati, OH, and Mason and Madison Schull of TN; two great grandchildren, Luella Woodworth of Washington state and Logan Dicks of Canton, GA; sister, Doris (Ray) Altman of Findlay, OH; sister-in-law, Linda Schirmer of Lima, OH; sisters in laws, Marlene Spencer, Deloris Matson (Jim), Beverly Thompson (Larry), Debra Williams (Luke) brother in law, Dwayne Hayden (Rebecca). Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, October16, 2014 at Wages & Sons Gwinnett Chapel with interment following at 2:00 pm at Georgia National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made, in memory of Edward, to the Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
