It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Belle (Pickens) Brumbelow, age 97, on November 22, 2023. She is deeply loved by her family and will be greatly missed.
Elizabeth was a life-long resident of the Bethel Community (Stone Mountain) and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. A devoted homemaker, she loved and cared for her family through the years. Though challenged by health issues, she was able to remain in her home until a few months prior to her passing.
Elizabeth spent many hours caring for her beautiful flowers and plants, which she shared with family and friends. She was creative and loved to crochet, do folk painting and home decorating. A wonderful cook, her family well remembers the many happy and food-filled gatherings at her home on every holiday.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years, Curtis A. Brumbelow, brothers – Charles Pickens and Ray Pickens, and her sister – Marguerite Holloway.
Elizabeth is survived by her children – Curtis R. (Rick) Brumbelow (Jan), Linda Wilson, and Pat Himes (Joe), 6 Grandchildren – Darlene Cummings (Tim), Michael Brumbelow (Courtney), Kevin Wiggley, Kelly Wiggley, Ginger Lanier (Todd), and Allison Thompson (Wes), 15 Great Grandchildren, and 3 Great, Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her eldest brother, Leonard Pickens, youngest sister, Judy Taylor and many nieces and nephews.
Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, November 26, at 2:00pm, at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, Stone Mountain, Georgia with visitation prior to the service 12:00 to 2:00pm. Elizabeth will be laid to rest at Bethel Community Cemetery.
