Elizabeth A. (Liz) Ford

May 1, 1961 — September 15, 2024

Elizabeth Annette Ford, affectionally known as Liz, Lizinix passed away peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 15, 2024. Liz was born on May 1, 1961, to Elena and George Ford in the Canal Zone, Ancon republic of Panama. She leaves behind a legacy of love that touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Her childhood was filled with countless memories of fun and laughter, as she learned early on the importance of family bonds and determination. If Liz wasn’t fishing and hunting with her brother Jorge and neighbor Glenn, she was hanging out with friends and making mischief.

Liz graduated from Balboa High School in 1978, where her intelligence and drive earned her a place as one of the top-ranking students excelling in everything she persued. After graduating from Columbus State University, Liz moved to New York. She worked at General Paper Goods in Brooklyn for several years before starting a 39-year career at H&R Block, initially as a tax preparer and quickly advancing to senior tax analyst. Charismatic and meticulous, she earned countless accolades from her peers, and at one point she became the number one tax analyst in her district.

Liz was the cornerstone of the family, the glue that held everyone together. She diligently organized annual trips, ensuring that loved ones gathered to create lasting memories. Her motto, “Everyone can’t make it,” reflected her philosophy of living fully, embracing family gatherings, laughter, and shared meals. She inspired others to live life to the fullest, fostering joy and connection in everything she did. Liz was also known for her generous spirit and had little patience for being told what to do. She was truly one of a kind. Serving as an inspiration and beacon of light to others, Liz will always hold a special place in all our hearts. Her infectious sense of humor endeared many, making her the beloved favorite aunt, niece, and cousin in her family.

Liz was preceded in death by her father, George L. Ford, and sister, Virginia Gloria Davis. Their memories remain etched in the hearts of those who loved them.

She is survived by her son, Eric Ford, daughter-in-law Adriana and three grandchildren-Eric Jr. Cameron, and Sage; Mother, Elena Ford, siblings: Mireya, George II (spouse: Zunilka), Pamela, Sylvia, Jacqueline, Mark, and Oneida; Aunts: Grace Carter and Alicia Herbert; Two goddaughters; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends.

Elizabeth Annette Ford’s legacy lives on through the lives she touched, the memories she created, and the love she shared. She fought a good fight. As someone recently said, when we were frightened, Liz was fighting. May she rest in eternal peace.
