On the morning of April 09, 2021 Ethel Phillips Ayscue went to be with the Lord. Ethel was born in the village of Edenderry, County Down, Northern Ireland to the parents of Sydney Phillips and May Smythe Phillips. At the age of 18, she became engaged, journeyed to America by ship, married John Oliver Adams, Jr. and raised 5 children.
She later married Bruce Boddie Ayscue, her husband of 28 yrs.
Ethel is preceded in death by her parents and her daughter, Valerie Adams Fleming. She is survived by her husband Bruce (Step daughters Allison and Ashley), her brothers (Lawrence and Kenneth Phillips), her children: Laura Adams Glass (Johnny), John Oliver Adams, III (Janella, Step daughter, Shelley Roix), Sydney Phillips Adams (Ray Lambert), Carolyn Jean Adams (Robert Varalla) : Grandchildren, Adam Fleming, Austin Fleming, Ashley Glass, Amber Hill, Nicole Adams, Devon Adams, 6 Great Grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, GA. Graveside service (family and close friends) will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 17th at Eternal Hills Cemetery, Snellville, GA.
