Ethel Louise Jordan

Ethel Jordan, 94, went home to meet Jesus, Sunday, June 25th, 2023, at Northside Hospital in Lawrenceville, Ga.

World’s Greatest wife, mom, MawMaw, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, and friend. Ethel was born, March 20th, 1929, in Eatonton, Ga. to the late Percy and Ross Carnes. She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, A.E. “Gene” Jordan, her son, Randy Jordan, her son-in-law, “Boe” Barker and three siblings, Minnie Long, Buddy Carnes and Mary Gramling. She was a member of Rosebud Baptist church and a homemaker. She loved the Lord, her family, and her friends. She was an active member of “The Mourning Doves”, enjoyed reading the Bible, working in the yard, watching the birds, and quilting. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was survived by her 2 daughters, Delores Barker, and Cindy Jordan of Snellville, 7 grandchildren and spouses, Jeff Barker of Snellville, Missy Barker Daigle (James) of Monroe, Randy Barker (Anthea) of Loganville, Joshua Thomason (Nicole) of Snellville, Jonathan Thomason (Kristin) of Navarre Beach, Fla, Jacob Thomason of Snellville, and Jared Thomason (Heather) of Gainesville, Ga., 13 great grandchildren, Daniel, Nathaniel, and Kyler Daigle, Kadence, Nevaeh, and Aryana Barker, Chloe and Cora Thomason, Evan and Jordan Thomason, and Conner, Jack, and Rhett Thomason, 2 sisters Inez Westbrook of Decatur and Catherine Sheppard (husband, Ronald) of Oxford. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will greatly miss her. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, June 29th at Wages and Sons Funeral Home in Stone Mountain Ga. The family will be receiving visitors on Wednesday, June 28th from 4-8 and Thursday from 11:30-12:30.
