Foy Lee Barnes Mr.

Foy Lee Barnes passed away at 89 years old on Tuesday April 12th, 2016 at Pruitt Healthcare Center in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born March 2, 1927 to Edward Bascomb and Bessie Mae (Cullifer) Barnes in Hartford, Alabama. He was a World War II veteran who traveled throughout Europe during this time and spoke of it often. As an avid gardener, he would share his bounty with family and friends. He is preceded by his wife Mary Frances (Langford.) Surviving Mr. Barnes are his children are Daphne Verner and Margie (Brett) Dent, grandchildren Laura (Andrew) and Patrick (Devin), and great- grand children Jaden, Ryan and Jack. Surviving siblings include Caroline, Harold David”Doc” (Anna Rea), Betty Sue (Herbert) and Edward Bascomb “Buddy.” Siblings that have gone before are Lamar, Dolphus, Mary and Maxwell. Service will be held on Monday April 18th at 11:00 at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, 4844 County Road 41 Hartford, Alabama, 36344 with Pastor Tommy Cumbie officiating.
