Frank Quill Sammon III, 75, of Lawrenceville, GA passed away after a brief illness, on September 15, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Alvin and Mera Sammon and his sister Sally McKelvey. Frank attended Georgia Military Academy where he was an all-star athlete. He attended The University of Georgia and John A. Gupton School of Mortuary Science. After graduation he joined F. Q. Sammon Funeral Home. Frank was a real estate broker and Vice President of Gwinnett County Board of Realtors. Frank founded the Gwinnett County Department of Business License and acted as the first director. He later was self-employed as a Right-of-Way agent and Title Examiner. He loved to watch college football, especially the Dawgs, play chess and try his hand at the casinos. Frank was an avid golfer, who looked forward to his golf game every Monday and Wednesday with his buddies. He also was a sportsman who loved to fish and hunt. He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Ann Adams Sammon, son, Frank Quill Sammon IV and wife Tracy Debardelaben Sammon, daughter, Anita Sammon Oakes and husband, Tim Oakes, son, Adam Doby and wife Sheila Owensby Doby. “Pop”, as he was known to his beloved grandchildren, had 6 grandsons, Blake Sammon, BJ Sammon, Chase Sammon, Kyle Oakes, Noah Doby and Sawyer Doby and 1 granddaughter, Lindsay Sammon. He is also survived by brothers, Carter and wife, Peggy Sammon and John Sammon and Nancy Norton. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel with Rev. Charles Dunahoo officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA. 770-277-4550.
