Fred Orel Jordan, Jr.

Fred Orel Jordan, Jr., of Dacula, GA, passed away peacefully on July 7, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on October 11, 1935, in Lawrenceville, GA, Fred lived a remarkable life defined by faith, service, family, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.

A graduate of North Fulton High School, Fred earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech before continuing his education with a Master of Business Administration from Florida Atlantic College. His dedication to his country led him to proudly serve in the United States Air Force.

Fred enjoyed an accomplished and distinguished professional career spanning engineering, aerospace, finance, and consulting. He began his career with McDonnell Douglas, where he worked on the Skybolt Program and later contributed to efforts supporting the United States moon program. His analytical skills and financial expertise led him to Brevard County, where he served as a financial analyst and was credited with saving the county significant financial resources. Throughout his career, he also worked with Post-Buckley, Merrill Lynch, and Coopers & Lybrand before concluding his professional journey as a successful self-employed consultant.

Outside of his career, Fred embraced life with enthusiasm and curiosity. He was an avid golfer and tennis player, enjoyed traveling with his travel club, and never passed up the opportunity to read a good book. He was a master of crossword puzzles and Sudoku, always eager to challenge his sharp mind. He appreciated the finer things in life, including beautiful automobiles, a good glass of wine, and quality gin. A lifelong Georgia Tech football fan, he faithfully supported the Yellow Jackets through every season and, in recent years, also became an enthusiastic soccer fan.

Fred was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church and later attended 12Stone Church. His faith guided the way he lived each day—with generosity, kindness, integrity, and a deep love for his family. He possessed an exceptional work ethic and genuinely enjoyed connecting with others. Whether meeting someone for the first time or catching up with an old friend, Fred had a gift for conversation. He asked thoughtful, open-ended questions, making everyone feel valued and heard.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Orel Jordan, Sr. and Mildred Hamilton Jordan, and by his beloved wife, Willabeth Peck Jordan.

He leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish his memory, including his son, Frederick Dale Jordan and his wife, Sheila Parish; and their children, Christine Click and her husband, Christopher Click; Davis Jordan; Meri Elizabeth Daugherty and her husband, Drew Daugherty; and Shae Jordan. He is also survived by his daughter, Julie Jordan Aronoff and her husband, Dr. Rich Aronoff; and their children, Arielle Jordan Aronoff and Alexa Paige Jordan. Fred was the proud grandfather of six grandchildren and the delighted great-grandfather of three great-grandchildren: Kallan Frederick Nicholas Click, Juno Rose Daugherty, and Iris Hope Daugherty. He is also survived by his sisters, Eula Eleanor Lawson and Dorothy Marie Ball, and his brother, Dr. James David Jordan.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to a cancer research organization in Fred's honor.

The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00PM on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway Lawrenceville, GA 30046 with the funeral service to follow at 2:00PM.
