Fredrik (Fred) Clancy Schroer

January 31, 1953 — February 6, 2026

Fredrik (Fred) Clancy Schroer, born on January 31, 1953, in Hammond IN, died peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026.

Fred was both large in physical stature, standing 6’7” tall, and large in presence to his family and friends. His faith was foundational to how he interacted with the world. He cared deeply for his family, his friends, his pets, and his colleagues. He was a mentor to many and always had time to listen and counsel. He loved going fast on land or on water. As a talented self-taught musician, Fred enjoyed all genres of music. Those who knew and loved Fred benefitted from his desire to share his interests, and his loving spirit.

Fred was raised in Indiana and moved south to study Economics at the University of Georgia – Go Dawgs! Fred loved the state of Georgia and stayed to build his career. He started at Westinghouse Corporation and progressed to increasing levels of responsibility in the construction industry. His career culminated in the ownership and Presidency of Williamson and Associates, a highly respected construction consulting company. He was proud of his contributions to the Atlanta Skyline, and other many major construction projects including the Atlanta Aquarium. However, he was most proud of the people who contributed to the success of the company.

Fred is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Sue; his step-mom Lisa; his brothers James (Mary) and Tim (Jennifer); his sisters Amy and Lisa; and many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, and God-children.

Predeceased by his father Edmund; his mother Phyllis Jean; his stepmother Elizabeth; his nephew Zachary; his former wife June; and his father-in-law Robert.

A memorial service to give thanks for Fred’s life will be held Friday, February 13, 2026, at 10:00 am in the sanctuary of Christ the Lord Lutheran Church, Lawrenceville, GA.
