Geneva Cox peacefully went to Heaven at the age of 90 from her home in Monroe, Georgia on May 12, 2020. She was born on June 29, 1929 in Dallas Georgia and was a graduate of West Fulton High School in Atlanta Georgia. Geneva married Thomas “Jack” Cox on November 28, 1947 and together they celebrated 70 loving years of marriage. She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. Thelma & Sarah Jarmon and husband Jack. She is survived by her brother & sister in law, John D. and Elizabeth Jarmon, her daughters Janet Cox Meeler (Joseph) and Linda Cox Ayers (Dave), her grandchildren; Jennifer Ayers, Leslie Meeler Powell (Jason), Tommy Ayers (Lisa), Lee Meeler (Lauren), Laura Ayers Melton (Kyle), and 8 great children: Tucker Melton, Luke Ayers, Caroline Powell, Alison Meeler, Cooper Powell, Hadley Ayers, Lainey Melton, and Owen Meeler.
Geneva was proud to be a Charter Member and Past President of the Karinats and Ladies Auxiliary of the Arab Guard of Yarrab Shrine. Her 44 year membership in the El Tehran, Daughters of the Nile brought her great joy. She and Jack were faithful members of Northside Park Baptist Church in Atlanta Georgia. In addition to her charity work, she was a true southern matriarch and quite the cook, often having her family fight over her fried okra before she could get it to the table.
Due to COVID-19; a Family Graveside Service will be held. At a later date, the family will have a Celebration of Life for all who loved and cared about her. In order for them to reach you, please sign below with your name and contact number.
