Glenda Mcleod

Glenda Long McLeod age 72 passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, July 3, 2022. Glenda was born on May 24, 1950 in Decatur, to Albert and Amma Long. She lived her entire life in the Stone Mountain area. Glenda was preceded in death by Albert, Amma, and oldest brother Edward. She is survived by her husband Johnny of 52 years of marriage, three children; daughter Kellie McLeod Dorsett (Chris), son Kyle McLeod (Katie) and daughter Kim McLeod, grandsons Connor and Rylan McLeod (Kyle). She is also survived by her brother Wayne Long (Mitzi) and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Glenda worked almost her entire adult life in only a few different jobs.  The most important and fulfilling was raising her three children as a “stay at home mom” she quite possibly could be the reason that the phrase was created. Once her children were all in school she went back to work for York pest control and later for Georgia MLS where she retired from late last year. She cared deeply for her family and friends.  She did not out of obligation, but because it was who she was. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those that were in need. She enjoyed going to the beach and spending countless hours sunbathing and taking walks down the beach.  This truly was her “happy place”. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
