Gloucester Dockie Pittman

Gloucester Richmond Dockie Pittman, age 91, of Stone Mountain, GA passed away in his home on Thursday, November 8, 2012. He was born March 28, 1921 in the hotel at the foot of Stone Mountain. He graduated from Stone Mountain High School in 1941 and was drafted into the Army where he served during WWII. He married his sweetheart, Mamie in 1945, and they were married for 64 years. Dockie was well liked by everyone and very entertaining with all his stories. He was preceded in death by his two daughters, Linda Rose, Marsha Jane and his wife Mamie. He is survived by his two daughters, Nancy Carol Arrington David and Susan Lorraine Cottraux Steve and two grandsons Justin and Philip Beth. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 12, 2012 at 11:00 am at Wages & Sons Stone Mountain Chapel with Rev. B.T. Chadwick officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Melwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1:00 until 4:00 pm. at Wages & Sons Funeral Home, Stone Mountain, GA 770 469-9811.
