Gregory Paul “Greg” Churak, 76, of Suwanee, Georgia, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025. Greg was born on May 14, 1949, in Swissvale, Pennsylvania, to the late Joseph Michael Churak, Sr. and Esther Ruth (Whitney) Churak.
A proud graduate of Geneva College, Greg earned his Bachelor of Science degree before embarking on a long and dedicated career with NCR Corporation, where he served as a data consultant from 1972 until his retirement in 2010. His professionalism, attention to detail, and easygoing demeanor earned him the respect and friendship of countless colleagues over nearly four decades.
Greg was also a proud member of The Elks (Maryland Chapter), where he found camaraderie, community, and purpose. Outside of work, he was known for his wit, kindness, and quiet generosity. He cherished time spent with family and friends and had a special appreciation for life’s simple joys—good conversation, laughter, and the company of loved ones.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Michael Churak, Sr. and Esther Ruth (Whitney) Churak, and by his sister, Nancy Jean Churak. He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Joanne (Kundrat) Churak; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph Michael Churak, Jr. (Bonnie) and Anthony Churak (Christine); his sister and her partner, Mary Lou Churak (Sara); his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary Andrea (Andi) Opat (Ivan); and his many cherished nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss him dearly.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Gregory’s name.
