Helen Marie (Ball) Rowe, a much-loved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed into the kingdom of God on Sunday, February 18, 2024. She was 84 years old.
Survivors include her children Andrew (Pam) Rowe, Athens, GA; Maureen (Phillip) Deal, Largo, FL; Bob (Kim) Rowe, Conyers, GA; grandchildren Alex Rowe (Shruti Sharma), Indian Land, SC; Natalie Rowe (Ericca), Statham, GA; Kelli Rowe, Conyers, GA; Zachary Deal, Largo, FL; and great-grandchildren Aidan Rowe and Arjun Rowe, Indian Land, SC; and Elliott Hicks, Conyers, GA. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John Andrew Rowe; parents, Joseph and Helen (McGlynn) Ball; her brothers Joseph Ball and John Ball; and grandson Stephen Ryan Rowe.
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Helen met the love of her life, John, in April 1959 and they were married that December. Helen and John lived in a variety of locations throughout their devoted 62-year marriage, including Oak Valley and Woodbury Heights, New Jersey; Cairo, Georgia; Bear, Delaware; Woodstock and Lawrenceville, Georgia.
Helen was a devoted Catholic, serving as lay minister and volunteering for various committees at each parish she was a member. Helen worked as a lab technician for several years at the local hospital in Cairo, Georgia. Socially, Helen was also very active in her Red Hats chapter and several Bridge groups in Woodstock, Georgia. Helen enjoyed the beauty of flowers as an avid gardener, and was a creative sewer, knitter, crocheter and cross stitcher. She quite enjoyed playing card games with family and friends in addition to computer and console games, especially Nintendo, with her grandchildren. Later in life, Helen enjoyed cruising with her husband, family and friends throughout the Caribbean, Central America, north-eastern United States and Alaska.
The family welcomes you to a visitation on Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Wages and Sons Funeral Home, 1031 Lawrenceville Highway Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 1, 2024, at 11 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Lawrenceville, GA.
Interment with her dearest husband will be at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA at a later date.
